Inside America's Infamous Retirement Community (The Villages, FL)

Inside America's Infamous Retirement Community

Hey there Reader,

This week, we’re taking you inside one of the most talked about places in America: The Villages, Florida.

If you’ve heard of The Villages, you’ve probably heard the rumors. Golf carts everywhere. Wild stories. A retirement community that people either seem to love, judge, or completely misunderstand.

So we decided to spend a day there and see what life is actually like on the other side but what surprised us most wasn’t the golf carts or the live music or even how massive the community is.

It was the people.

Again and again, we met people who had packed up their lives, moved to The Villages, and said some version of the same thing: “I wish we would have done it sooner.”

This episode really challenged the way we think about retirement, aging, adventure, and what it means to keep making memories in every stage of life.

After you watch, we’d love to know: would you ever live somewhere like The Villages?

Go make the memory,
Cole + Emily

But that left us with a question: How does an Amish farm survive in a modern world? Over the next 16 hours, we moved cattle, traveled by horse and buggy, made cheese, collected eggs...

Inside Florida's Elite Dolphin Training Center Hey Reader, This week on Unique America, we’re in the Florida Keys going behind the scenes at Dolphin Life to find out what it really takes to become a dolphin trainer. We went into the day thinking we’d be learning a few hand signals and spending a lot of time in the water. We quickly found out there is a whole lot more happening behind the scenes before a trainer ever asks a dolphin to do a trick. From the early morning prep to learning how...

Inside the World’s Largest Truck Stop Hey Reader, This week’s video takes us inside Iowa 80, the world’s largest truck stop, during one of the biggest trucker events of the year. But what we found was so much more than a massive truck stop. We went in curious about the size, the trucks, the museum, the food, and the people who come from all over the country to be there. But the deeper we got into the day, the more this story became about the men and women behind the wheel. The drivers...
