We Stayed Overnight on a 75-Year-Old Fireboat

We Stayed Overnight on a 75-Year-Old Fireboat

There are some places you don’t find on a map.

Tonight’s video is one of them.

We were invited to spend 24 hours aboard a retired fireboat tucked away in San Francisco Bay — a piece of history most people walk right past without ever noticing.

At first, it felt like stepping into something frozen in time…
steel walls, red lights, and stories you can almost feel in the air.

But this wasn’t just about sleeping on an old boat.

The next morning, we set out to see San Francisco in a way we never have before — chasing a plan that didn’t quite go the way we expected.

And somewhere between Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, the experience shifted into something deeper than we thought it would be.

It became about more than just the boat.

It became about the people who saved it, the stories it carries, and what it means to keep something like this alive.

We didn’t know how this one would turn out when we said yes.

But it ended up being one of those experiences that sticks with you long after you leave.

Thank you for being here,

Emily

Reader, this may be our last sailing trip!

Yes you read that right.

For nearly three years, the ocean was our home.

We woke up in quiet anchorages, explored islands you can’t reach by road, and shared some of the most unforgettable adventures of our lives—and many of you have been here the entire journey.

But as our channel has shifted to our new focus (Unique America), we’re not sure when (or if) we’ll host another sailing trip again.

That’s why Cruise with the Crews – Exumas 2026 feels especially meaningful.

In May of 2026, we’ll be setting sail to explore the turquoise waters, white-sand beaches, and hidden gems of the Exumas, Bahamas.

From snorkeling vibrant reefs and swimming with sea turtles to beach picnics, island hopping, and sunset dinners on deck, this is your chance to experience the magic of boat life firsthand.

And like every Cruise with the Crews trip, the best part is the people—adventurers who show up as strangers and leave feeling like lifelong friends.

If sailing the Exumas with us has ever been on your bucket list, this might be the moment.

You’ve watched our adventures… now it’s your turn to live one.

Inside America's Forgotten Coast This week’s video takes us along one of the most unspoiled coastlines in America, the Forgotten Coast. We had one day to explore 80 miles of small towns, empty beaches, seafood history, old Florida charm, and the kind of places that still feel like they belong to the people who built them. We started in Carrabelle, where we found the world’s smallest police station, met locals who remember when the seafood industry was booming, and quickly realized this...

Inside The Town That Summons Worms From The Ground We thought we were just going fishing but instead we ended up deep in the Florida Panhandle chasing a 100-year-old tradition that almost no one is still doing. It’s called worm grunting — and it looks like magic when worms starting coming out of the ground. But when we got into town, everything started falling apart. Our experts canceled and no one wanted to take us. What followed was one of the most unexpected, hands-on, and honestly wild...

Inside The World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup We spent 48 hours inside a small Texas town where thousands of rattlesnakes are brought in every year… and what we found was way bigger than we expected. Sweetwater, Texas is home to the World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup — a tradition that’s been around for decades and one that sparks a lot of strong opinions. From hunting rattlesnakes in the Texas wild, to stepping inside the snake pit, to experiencing the people and community that keep this...
